Background and Education
Mr. Tanaka earned his law degree from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2023. While in law school, he served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Derrick K. Watson at the United States District Court for the District of Hawai‘i.
Mr. Tanaka was born and raised in Honolulu and graduated from ‘Iolani School in 2016. He then attended Boston University as a National Merit Scholar, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, magna cum laude. While in college, Mr. Tanaka was an intern for Senator Brian Schatz in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Tanaka is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in the State of Hawai‘i. He is a member of the Hawai‘i State Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association.
