This area of practice handles the full spectrum of regulatory issues arising before the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission ("Commission"). We are experienced with the protocols and procedures that apply to proceedings and dockets arising before the Commission. Our attorneys have successfully represented telecommunication companies in rate cases, infrastructure dockets, rural service dockets and tariff proceedings and have also represented telecommunication carriers in appeals to the State Supreme Court and federal district court proceedings involving the Federal Telecommunications Act. We have represented the State Consumer Advocate in complex rate cases involving electric and gas utility companies, and have also evaluated, prepared and filed applications for the Commission's approval of wastewater facilities potentially necessary for new or existing development projects.
