This
area of practice addresses a wide variety of antitrust issues affecting
competition in relation to the Hawaii market. Our attorneys work on
criminal and civil antitrust matters in federal and state courts in
Hawaii and provide antitrust advice and consultation to businesses. Our
lawyers are also frequently called upon to provide consultation on the
U.S. antitrust law to foreign companies doing business in the United
States.
We
litigate a broad spectrum of antitrust issues, including cases arising
under the Sherman Act, Clayton Act, Hawaii Unfair and Deceptive
Practices Act, and other state and federal antitrust law. Our
consulting practice focuses on providing practical solutions designed
to minimize risk while achieving each client's objectives to the
maximum extent practicable. The firm is experienced with and counsels
clients on a wide range of antitrust issues, including: pricing
policies; trade associations and other arrangements among competitors;
joint ventures and distribution arrangements; as well as compliance
with Hawaii's Unfair and Deceptive Practices Act. An important part of
our antitrust practice involves counseling clients in connection with
mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. We work with state and
federal regulator agencies to obtain appropriate governmental
approvals, and advise clients on compliance with the Hart-Scott-Rodino
Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976.
