After practicing briefly
in New York following his admission to the
New York bar in 1969, Mr.
Lezak moved to Hawaii and practiced with
Padgett, Greeley, Marumoto & Akinaka from 1970 to 1975.
In 1975, he
practiced at Carlsmith where he continued his emphasis in real
estate and related financing, commercial, and business law.
Mr. Lezak was a
senior partner in the real estate section of the Carlsmith
firm before leaving in 1986 to join in forming the firm of
Bays, Deaver, Hiatt, Kawachika and Lezak as a partner. Mr. Lezak joined
Kobayashi, Sugita & Goda as a partner in
1996.
Mr. Lezak has received the
highest "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell. His experience includes
the representation of lenders in real estate lending and
workouts and the representations of other clients with respect
to real estate acquisitions, sales, and development, real
estate lending, commercial leasing, and business formation and
reorganization. He also represents
owners in lease-to-fee conversions.
He has served as a member
of several panels, including the Ideas Exchange, Commercial
Real Estate Leasing in Hawaii, Basic Real Estate Law in
Hawaii and Advanced
Conference on Commercial Real Estate. Mr. Lezak is a member
of the American and Hawaii State Bar
Associations.
