, Mr. Kobayashi is a Partner of the firm concentrating in
the areas of corporate, construction and commercial law. Mr. Kobayashi
has counseled owners, developers, general contractors and design
professionals in construction matters and tenants with respect to
commercial leasing concerns. In addition, Mr. Kobayashi has worked on
numerous commercial matters, involving general corporate and business
matters, business sales and acquisitions, and has represented clients,
both individuals and events, in the sports industry. San

Mr. Kobayashi received his
Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Santa
Clara University, in Santa Clara, California in
1987. He then
received his Juris Doctor degree in 1990 from The Northwestern
School of Law at Lewis & Clark College in
Portland, Oregon. Following graduation
from law school, Mr. Kobayashi was a foreign associate with
the Hashidate Law Office in Tokyo, Japan, until
joining Kobayashi, Sugita & Goda in April
1993.
Mr. Kobayashi is a member
of the Hawaii State Bar Association and the American Bar
Association. Mr.
Kobayashi is also a member of the Sports Lawyers
Association. Mr.
Kobayashi is a director of the East-West Center Foundation, a
member of the Board of Governors of the Japanese-American
National Museum, a director of Ahahui Koa Anuenue, a director
of the OIA Foundation, a director of the Hawaii High School
Athletic Association Foundation, a director of the Pro Bowl
Ohana Committee, and sits on the advisory board for Rebuilding
Together Hawaii, part of the national Rebuilding Together
organization that organizes teams of volunteers from business,
labor and the community to repair and renovate community
facilities and the homes of low-income, elderly and disabled
residents of Hawaii.
Mr. Kobayashi is also a former director of the Research
Corporation of the University of Hawaii
(RCUH).
