Mr. Lau brings with him a wealth of experience in government practice both at a county and state level. He has served as a legislative assistant to the Hawaii’s House of Representatives and as the Judiciary Committee Clerk to the 1978 Hawaii State Constitutional Convention.  In 1981, he was appointed a Deputy Corporation Counsel for the City and County of Honolulu, and in that position served as counsel for a number of City agencies.  During his tenure with the City, Mr. Lau was selected to specially service the City Civil Service Department, which included a major role in the City’s newly emphasized subrogation recovery program.  In 1989, Mr. Lau joined the Office of Attorney General for the State of Hawaii to work with the State Housing agency responsible for the development and administration of all the State’s affordable housing projects, including the Villages of Kapolei.
