Mr.
Nakamura is a partner of the law firm and focuses his practice
primarily in the areas of commercial litigation and public
utilities representation.
Mr.
Nakamura has litigated, arbitrated and mediated numerous cases
involving complex commercial and real estate transactions,
commercial lease and licensing disputes, commercial loan
disputes, environmental remediation disputes, employment
disputes, disputes related to the campaign spending laws of
the State of
Hawaii
Hawaii, and other related commercial matters. Mr. Nakamura
has also successfully represented clients in a variety of matters
before the Public Utilities Commission of the State of
Hawaii
dockets to obtain a certificate of public convenience
and necessity for prospective utility companies, tariff
amendments for existing utilities, investigative dockets
relating to gasoline pricing, FCC-mandated telecommunication
compliance dockets, and other related matters. His representation
before the Public Utilities Commission has been as legal
counsel for both private clients as well as for the State
Consumer Advocate. Mr. Nakamura's practice
also includes the representation of clients in appellate
proceedings in the State appellate courts.
Prior to joining
the firm, Mr. Nakamura received a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Business & Administrative Studies from Lewis
& Clark College in
Portland,
Oregon.
Mr. Nakamura
earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1995 from Northwestern
School of Law of Lewis
& Clark College.
Mr. Nakamura is a
member of the Hawaii State Bar
Association.
